Tras iniciar los triales internacionales con la Sherpa N,Bultaco contacta con el piloto ingles Sammy Miller. Que decide trabajar con Bultaco y desarrollar la moto de trial que revolucionó el panorama internacional, apareciendo con esta moto de 2 tiempos ligera y ágil que desbancaba a las pesadas 4 tiempos inglesas, dominó enseguida las competiciones de trial i en especial la famosa carrera de Escocia que es la primera de trial, iniciándose a principio de siglo.
La Sherpa T fue la primera moto no inglesa en ganar esta prueba. A partir de aquí Bultaco dominó el mundo del trial hasta casi el cierre de la fábrica.
En 1964 Sammy Miller ganaba el campeonato británico de trial, venciendo en las 15 pruebas que constaba.
Como referencia comentar que actualmente paralelamente a los seis días de Escocia SSDT. Se celebra un trial de dos días para motocicletas anteriores a la Bultaco Sammy Miller. Es decir motos pre 65.

Sin embargo su palmarés es probablemente uno de los más importantes de la historia, pues en él constan más de 1150 victorias, un record al que no se pueden acercar ni Jordi Tarrés ni Dougie Lampkin.
